My Idilfitri Project - smocking pattern

Hai  all,

What have you all been up to? As usual, i am still here and keeping busy with my needlework!  i have way too many project otw.  In the meantime, my Idilfitri Project is in progress..as you can see below but this time around there is no particular dateline so i don't have to rush not like my May Project previously huhu.

Anyway, i'm happy to report that i've  smocked a few patterns of  My Idilfitri Project. i have 4-5 more patterns to go.  Here are some patterns that i've been doing for the past few weeks which i'm so thrill to show.

four plates of smockings...

This sweet pink colour plain fabric is smocked with bargello pattern.  The plate has only 7 rows of smocking and this is for my baby customer.  By the time of Hari Raya she'll be eight - nine months.

i received many requests from my customer to have their gowns smock with bargello pattern and i must admit that i always enjoy smocking this design.  Adorable even!

Finally, the smocking part of this little one is completed!.   i used three different colours of threads to match with the fabric.  This is also for my toddler customer.  i have another three pieces of the same fabric and prints to work out.  Actually these four children are  related.  They are the grand daughters of Aunty Leha, the petronas gas station owner.  She bought 10 mtrs of the fabric and had requested the dresses to be made especially for this coming Idilfitri.

These two above are also related.  The girls are cousins by age of 3 and 5.  The fabric i'm using is a vietnamese cotton.  i  used  DMC threads to get the shiny effect and it took me a week to finish them!

Here's another  pattern especially made for my friend's 3 year old daughter.  My friend Dalilah  wanted a pink printed fabric for her girl so i'm using my in house fabric with tiny colourful flower prints.

Another  bargello pattern on mind.  This pattern is also requested by  my customer for her adorable baby Adinda.   Her baby is so cute that i can't take my eyes of her everytime i look at her pic. huhu...  i used her own choice of fabric light pink lobster.

i added some smocking details on the sleeves
The dress design is actually an adaptation of the original 'the babe in the wood' but i changed the smocking part to bargello pattern as by request.  But  i think it will  suits her well.

the collars which have not  been sewed

part of the dress has been constructed...

Forward progress is always good don't you think so?  i still have most of the dress construction ahead of me and i really hope to get them done sooner so that they'll reach my customers before the fasting month.

Hope you all have a fantastic weekend.  Enjoy your day!

Another collection of smockings.

Hi all,
i'm quite tension this few days!  i can't go through my email.  i know i have to make some entries and update my blog but because of this problem i'm stuck for almost a week! Anyway, today i managed to open my email. What a relief.  Perhaps my email has been hacked by someone? Can they do that? Well i don't know.  Can't be bothered anyway..

I'm still struggling with my 'Idilfitri Project'.  Don't worry guys i'm still enjoying smocking! huhu.. I've done a few and will display them in my blog soon.  Meanwhile here are two smocking gowns which have been done several months ago.  i must say that they are not my latest one though .. well hey, at least i need to do something for my new entry haha.. Happy viewing guys..

 Till next time, c-ya!

Green green my garden!

I took these pictures a week ago after woke up one  morning and suddenly noticed all the flowers that i've planted started to bloom simultaneously.  And my hubby who never in his life shows any interests at those beautiful , magnificent 'creatures' (haha) had suddenly complimented my red roses as he was on his way to the office at that particular moment.  Made my heart  so flattered hu hu..

i always dream  when everytime i open my window i could smell a very nice n  sweet scent from my lovely roses.  i guess my dream had came true. la la la...

My Idilfitri Project

Assalamualaikum semua,

Sedar x sedar sudah hampir seminggu (lagi 2 hari) cuti sekolah  berlalu.  Dan bila i dah betul2  sedar  rupe2 nye agak lama juga i x buat entry baru selepas projek May i yg  lepas.  Ada jugak follower yg inbox i tanya: ' mem, ape cer sekarang ni?' hehe...Terima kasihlah pada yang prihatin dan singgah kat blog i ni.  At least i tau yang i taklah membebel sorang2 kat sini (sigh).

Apa yang i buat sepanjang minggu ni dah tentu lah sibuk dengan my projek raya.  Alhamdulillah kain2 customer semuanye dah siap dipotong dan dah siap pleated untuk dijahit smocking.  Sebenarnya i memang x sabar nak menjahit sementelah jari tangan ni gatal jer bila tengok bakul smocking i tu (huhu).. Ingatkan nak start smock hari pertama cuti sekolah lagi malangnyer i kena 'migrain/headache' yg teramat sangat selama 3 hari so, tergendalalah segala schedule yang i dah projek dalam kepala ni hemm... Anyway, sekarang i dah boleh concentrate dengan my needleworks semula yeah!

Sekarang ni i tengah siapkan tempahan my customer dari Seri Kembangan, Selangor.  I smock pattern bargello sebab i rasa sesuai sangat dengan fabriknye yang bercorak bunga kecil2.

'my idilfitri project'

Design dressnya my customer requested 'Babes in the wood' adaptation dari  AS&E magazine.  Memang cute design tu.  InsyaAllah i akan jahit design tu bila dah siap smockingnye.

Kepada all my customer, jangan risau projek ni  berjalan lancar n still in progress insyaAllah akan siap sepenuhnya sebelum Idilfitri menjelang.  Maklumlah, jahitan baju smocking ni bukan macam baju kurung.  Sulaman tangan memang mengambil masa sedikit.  Jadi, sabar yerr..

Sekian dulu buat kali ini, selamat berholiday bersama famili anda!! Daa..

'My Idilfitri Project'

At last! i 'm glad that  my May project is over.  They are going back to my sister's.

These have been posted by Pos Laju this morning.  i hope they'll reach her on time.

While busy packing the rests i totally forgot about this one he he.. sorry sis!

So now i'm back for my own schedule again.  My smocking project.  i named it 'My Idilfitri Project'.  i have more or less 12 orders from the customers.  Some wanted to use their own fabrics while the rests are in-house fabrics.  i'm going to get them started ASAP!.  First thing on my mind ...of course the patterns i'm gonna use. huhu..i'm sure it going to be a very very busy time for me  AGAIN.   As the school holiday is just around the corner i'm sure i'll have enough time to concentrate in this project.  Wish me luck guys!

Well,  i'll see u around  next time..bye bye for now!

A needle pulling thread

Hei all,

At last my headaches are gone!  Finally i finished smocked these two pieces of patterns just a  few  dayz ago.  Hooray!! i managed to get my May project done on time ( just before the dateline-huhu).  I did it sis!

these two patterns had 15 lines each. pheww...

In the mean time, happy sewing everybody..

My Prince Charming's birthday

16th May was my son Kushairi's birthday.  He 's 13 year old this year.  Ya, ya,  i know, its the same day where we celebrated Teacher's Day in Malaysia.  It's kind of frusrated because i don't have a chance to celebrate his birthday on the day itself as he stays in a hostel,  moreover it's a school day!

Anyway, yesterday was a wesak day which was a public holiday so we managed to see him there. Yea!. I decided to cook 'nasi lemak'.  I know he loves my 'sambal tumis very much.  I also fried some drumnets and to make it more realistic (hehe) my hubby bought a very nice birthday cake to go with it.  We had a very very simple but memorable lunch together.

A needle pulling thread

I'm trying to ignore my laptop and not to make any entries for my blog.  Try to focus on my smockings which need to be taken very very seriously as the date is killing me!.  I still have another two more patterns to look after (gulp).
However, this one had catched my eyes.  Can't help to show it to everyone out there.  La la la la..

I know that i can count on this one.  Sewing is a really good theraphy don't u think so?

p/s  two more to go sis, and they all will be yours hehe

A needle pulling thread- it's been a while...

It's really hot outside so i thought of staying home and do some cleanings.  While arranging my wardrobe i found one interesting red chili dress.  It's a smocking dress done by me in 2003 huhu.   I remember smocked for my daughter who was 1 year old that time.  It was my first attempt I've learned from my mum.

I always think that is a good idea to use plain fabric to smock with especially for a beginner like me (in those days lah).  Well, for first timer i think the dress is ...so, so..lah ! haha..

something Retro

My brother had tagged me this very old pic through my fb.  It was the picture of my eldest sis n I taken at my aunt's graduation day in UKM.  I was wearing a green smocking gown smocked by our mother while my sis was having something resembled 'Britney Spears' (hehe) in late 70's.  I am glad to know that we have been wearing smocking since then.

We also showed off our beautiful knitted hats which  was a 'phenomenon' in those days...
This pic of us had made me smile and  smile and  smile continuously...

Another collection of smocking

I've made these two dresses quite sometimes ago. Those times i completely forgot to photograph them for my self keeping.  Luckily just a few days ago i managed to borrow them from my friend who is actually my regular customer ( I sewed many dresses of her girls).  She wanted to make some smocking gowns for her daughter and nieces.  So, during the day of taking the measurements of the girls she did bring along these two smocking dresses (thanks Zetty huhu).

The fabric was english cotton from Harrison's

This pattern i adapted from 'Devotion' of Australian Smocking & Embroidery magazine.  One of my favourites.
